Survey Overview

Overview

The Customer Assistance Survey program is a computer program for counting customer questions. It attempts to synthesize the paper questionnaire into a simpler ÒonlineÓ form for easy logging of questions received. It has a number of radio buttons and checkboxes for defining the types and attributes of the question.

The program takes the notion of the ÒquestionÓ as being an elemental record of the event. The question is defined as a certain type with a set of modifiers. A question may be, for example, a directional type, a reference type, etc., with modifiers such as which resources were used and how the question was received and handled.

Startup

The program is a webstart application. It will initially download the program from an online server. See links below.

Clicking on the link will fetch the program and some security checks will begin. You can check ÒAlways trust content from this PublisherÓ since it is an in-house product. Then click the run button.
On the first run, the preferences window should popup. For the purposes of your first survey, you'll need to change just a few settings, so please do this immediately. The next page has a screenshot image of the preferences panel.
